A manual for Germany

After living in Germany for about 10 years now, I ordered “the manual”. The Federal Government Commissioner for Migration, Refugees and Integration (of TCKs ;-)) distributes the manual free of charge. The CD or Book can be ordered on their Homepage.

The Manual for Germany is intended for immigrants who are considering settling in Germany and who, before arriving or having just arrived, would like to find out about life in Germany. The manual provides current and general information on the country and people, politics and law, work and social security, as well as on everyday life.

Typo3 releases 4

princess amelieThe Typo3 community released the new Version 4 this morning, shortly after Baby Skårhøj version 1.0!. Really cute, the Typo3-Founder Kasper announced his sweet little princess Amelie some days before. Congratulations! She is indeed a princess, just have look at her shirt.

“So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith” (The Bible, Galatians 3,26)

Typo3 is one of the most popular opensource Content Management Systems.

I hope to find some time to look into the new Version soon, since we want to run it on our YMCA-Site one day….

Four Eyed Monsters

Susan and ArinFour Eyed Monsters (FEM) is a independent movie by Susan Buice and Arin Cumley. The time they first met, Susan and Arin decided to solely communicate through art in form of written messages, paintings, pictures and videos. They kept this up for four month. FEM, an “independent, narrative feature film”, is what evolved out of their relationship. It is definitely hard to get a swift overview on that apparently trilling project. I found lots of creative material spread (quite unstructured - as expected of real artists) all over their site. The best to probably start with, is the trailer and podcast on their website.

Sadly the film is not available as DVD or on the web. Susan and Arin spent the last year travelling around showing the film at festivals. I really got curious and hope to get a chance to watch it sometime! In case anybody knows where it is playing leave me a note.
