images
You may want to add some nice pics to your posts or pages. I will introduce two possibilities here:
Upload a Picture to your Blog
- You may upload files (documents or images) to your blog with a maximum size of 1500KB (1.5MB). I have limited the uploadspace per blog to 10MB.
- Before you can upload a picture to your weblog you should resize it. A picture from your digital camera for example, has a very big filezize and you wont be able to upload it. Either use a Imaging-Software on your PC or resize the picture to a convenient dimension with a online service. Online Image Resizer is such a tool. On that page first browse to the image on your computer, choose the size you want, rotate the image in case you need to and hit “okay” to perform the change. This might take a while, depending on how large your picture is.
- The resized picture will be presented to you. Move your mousepointer over the image and save the picture on your computers desktop by pressing the right mousebutton an choosing “Save image as…“.
- Log in to the adminarea of your blog. Go to “Write” and either write a new post or a new page. (you could also edit a existing post).

- Beneath the text field on the Write-Page you can now upload the picture. Choose “Browse” and navigate to the image you want to upload. Hit “Upload“.
- Now the picture will appear in the blue box. If you click on the picture, you can choose from several options. You could use a thumbnail in your post and have it linked. By clicking on the picture, your readers can then open the image in full size.
- Now click “Send to editor” or drag and drop the image in the above editor. If you want your image to float in you text, mark the image with your mouse and click on
in the toolbar. Then choose the “Alignment” of the picture.
Use an alternative Image Service (e.g. flickr)
Flickr is a foto-webservice. Once you have a free account, you can upload pictures and present them to the world. Uploading can be done directly in through your browser, or by sending your pictures to a flickr-generated emailadress. Flickr integrates with your blog. You can configure flickr to directly post a picture to your blog.
- Pictures that you uploaded to flickr can be displayed in different sizes.

- You can display them in your post when entering the permanent urlĀ (click this
symbol in the toolbar).
